When I finished undergrad, I knew it would take a conscious effort to stay engaged with the literary community in the absence of a classroom. My years-long collaboration with Letras Latinas has kept me plugged in to the contemporary Latinx literary landscape, even as I've moved across and between countries. Having the freedom to engage critically and deeply with the written word and the authors who composed them has bolstered my criticism skills, which contributed to me getting my dream job in publishing! Writing my column has also made me a more well-rounded reader and, thus, a more versatile writer. I can't thanks Letras Latinas enough!
