Being in community with other Latinx poets at the Latino Poetry anthology events has been profoundly meaningful. It’s a space where our shared cultural heritage and individual experiences converge, creating a vibrant tapestry of voices that celebrate our collective resilience and creativity. Our stories are powerful and necessary, and it deepens my understanding of the many ways we navigate identity, language, and history in our work.
The connections I’ve formed through Letras Latinas and these events are a source of inspiration and solidarity. Together, we uplift one another, challenge each other’s perspectives, and affirm that our diverse narratives are essential to the broader literary landscape. This sense of comunidad fuels my commitment to my craft and my responsibility to contribute to the continued visibility and evolution of Latinx poetry.
